Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Marce Jr., Pat, and Frankie Sammons; and her sisters, Muriel Suits and Helen Peck.
She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 49 years, Randy Puckett. Doris was joyfully anticipating their 49th wedding anniversary, which would have been celebrated on August 13th. Together, they built a large and loving family.
Doris is also survived by her children:

Doris had a kind and giving spirit, especially known for sitting with the sick and offering comfort during times of need. She had a special gift for presence and compassion, always showing up when someone needed her most.
She loved taking her grandchildren out to lunch and getting her nails done. Many of her fondest moments were spent on the creek bank fishing or surrounded by her family during Thanksgiving and Christmas, where her cooking was the centerpiece of the celebration. Her homemade biscuits and gravy, chicken and dressing, and famous banana pudding will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of tasting them.
Above all, Doris deeply loved her children and grandchildren. Her legacy is one of unconditional love, selfless care, and warm memories that will be cherished forever.
