Harmon Arnold Profile Photo Harmon Anderson Arnold, age 81, passed away July 30, 2025, at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.

He was born December 29, 1943, in McNairy County, and grew up in the Five Points community, the son of the late T.J. and Mary Margarett Graves Arnold. He attended schools at New Friendship and Chicago, IL. He worked twenty years at International Harvester in Libertyville, IL. He returned to Pinson in 1974, and married Catherine ‘Cathy’ Harris and they made their home at Pinson. He worked at I.C.G. Railroad, Jackson Police Department, and retired from Williams Steel as a welder in 2006.

He was an avid gardener, enjoyed hunting, and fishing.

He was a member of the Meridian Baptist Church in South Jackson.

Mr. Arnold is survived by his wife, Catherine ‘Cathy’ Harris Arnold of Pinson; two sons, Kenneth Arnold of Medon and Tommy Fitzgerald of Jackson; a daughter, Debbie Phillips (Manuel) of New Concord, KY; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Verlynn Mobley of Spring Hill, TN, and Shelia Evans (Bob) of College Grove, TN.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Arnold and two sisters, Frances Young and Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Kinchen.

Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Saturday, August 2nd at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Tim Bass officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial in Jackson.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 11:00 AM until 2:30 PM on Saturday.
