Kai-Ling Chen, age 65, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on July 25, 2025, in her home surrounded by family.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, 2320 Bob Wallace Ave. SW, Huntsville, Alabama. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11.

Kai-Ling was born in Tai-Chung, Taiwan to Tseng-Ping and Shie-Yue Liao on February 9, 1960.

She went to GuoZhi Junior College in Business in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and graduated in 1979 with an Associate Degree in International Trade. She worked as an Accounting Specialist for ShinGuang Insurance Corp. for 17 years. She enjoyed hiking, gardening, and music. She was a committee member in the Huntsville Taiwanese Association and was involved in the Huntsville Buddha Society.

She moved from Pingtung, Taiwan to Huntsville, Alabama after marrying her husband Chien-Pin who was a professor at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. There she and her husband began raising a family. Her life was dedicated to her children who she worked tirelessly to raise while her husband worked in Alabama, New York, and Shanghai to provide for them.

Kai-Ling is survived by her husband, Chien-Pin Chen; her son, Ian Chen; and her daughter, Christine I-Ting Chen. She was preceded in death by her father, Tseng-Ping Liao and her mother, Shie-Yue Liao whom she loved dearly.
