Calvin Wayford Gilbert, 93, of Sumiton, AL passed away on July 20, 2025 in Jasper, AL.
Funeral services will be Wednesday July 23, 25 at 11:00 am in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Pastor Wade Peoples of Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Carbon Hill Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is from 10-11 am.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Emma Gilbert, his wife, Dorothy
Gilbert; brothers Cecil Gilbert, Bud Gilbert, Little Joe Gilbert, Dillard Gilbert, O’Dell Gilbert, Charles Gilbert;
sisters, Geneva Harris, Opal Best, Virge McKeevery, Joyce Keeton, Illa Hicks, Dot Gilbert and his great grandson Chad Fuller.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel Gilbert; daughters, Vanessa Weeks (Billy), Susan Thompson (Denny); grandchildren, Dana Ellison (Lee) and Adam Thompson ( Lisa);
great grandchildren, Anna Ellison, Kaylee Ellison, Brayden Thompson (Zoey), Emily Thompson and Zoey Thompson; great-great grandchildren, Blakley Lambeth, and Baylen Thompson; a host of neices and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Pall Bearers will be Lee Ellison, Adam Thompson, Brayden Thomspn, Brock Tolbert, Austin Fortner and
