Two-Vehicle Accident Takes Life Of Huntsville Man

HARVEST-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident that has taken the life of a Huntsville man and sent another woman and child to hospital with injuries:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, has claimed the life of a Huntsville man.

Donquis Hereford, 19, was critically injured when the 2011 Toyota RAV4 that he was a passenger in left the roadway, struck a culvert and then a ditch. Hereford was transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased while at the hospital.

The driver of the Toyota, Kathy R. Whitfield, 61, of Harvest, was also injured and transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. Hereford nor Whitfield were using a seat belt at the time of crash.  A second passenger of the Toyota, a 4-year-old, also of Harvest, was injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. The juvenile was not properly restrained at the time of crash.

The crash occurred on Yarbrough Road near Wilbanks Lane, approximately two miles west of Harvest, in Madison County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
