DECATUR – On Saturday, July 19th, 2025, make sure to head to the Decatur Farmer’s Market from 8 AM – 12 PM, as the Decatur Farmer’s Market, in partnership with Decatur Morgan County Tourism, presents the 1st ever Tomato Festival! Join us for a fun, fresh, family-friendly morning full with free tomato samples, face painting, and even live music from a local favorite, Drew Clemons!
This event will take place at the newly renovated Farmer’s Market at 211 1st Avenue SE in Decatur! The market
originally opened in 1937, but just recently underwent a $3 million renovation project that took two years to complete. The market reopened on April 12, 2025, and this is the first major event that has taken place since completion.
Alabama-grown tomatoes are more than a garden staple—they’re a big deal for our farmers and our economy. Tomatoes are very important to the state of Alabama, as they are the most popular crop grown in Alabama gardens. Tomatoes grown here are used for both commercial use and for household use, and tomatoes have several southern dishes that call for them!
This event is a great opportunity to round up the family, as there will be something to do for everyone! While adults are buying fresh produce and listening to music with loved ones, kids will enjoy getting their faces painted while trying tomato samples (while supplies last), all for no cost! Don’t miss out at the fun!
