Mrs. Mary Evelyn Thornton of Killen, AL, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025 at the age of 88. Mary was a 1955 graduate of Mars Hill Bible School, retired LPN, and faithful member of Centerhill Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her son Phillip Wade Thornton. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Albert Eli Thornton, son Terry Dale Thornton (Becky), and daughter Marsha Lynn Thornton, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and sister Freda McGee (Don). Visitation will be Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm at Greenhill Funeral Home, with service immediately following. Interment will be at Centerhill Church of Christ Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts of donation in her memory be made to Rainbow Omega, Inc. or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Pallbearers will be: Tommy Ring, Ray Barger, Bill Creasy, Gaylord Ashby. Jerry Fox, Dennis Pruitt & Trevor Thornton.
