Cowart Dewitt Jennings, age 85, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Ethridge, TN, a native of Lawrenceburg, TN, partner at Jennings Brothers Farm, and a member of Mars Hill United Methodist Church. Mr. Jennings served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Wesley Jennings and Era Lee Burdick Jennings Weaver; his wife, Jo Ann Chaffin Jennings; and three brothers, Jerry Jennings, Lee Jennings, and Charles Jennings.
He is survived by one son, Richard Jennings (Amy) of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter, Pam Baskin (Kelby) of Burlison, TN; four grandsons, Dylan Baskin (Savannah) of Burlison, TN, Kaleb Baskin of Burlison, TN, Samuel Jennings of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Stephen Jennings of Lawrenceburg, TN; and one brother, Cranford Jennings (Betty) of Lawrenceburg, TN.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, June 27, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 28, 2025, with Billy Beal officiating. Interment will follow at Mars Hill Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN with military honors. The family suggests memorials be made to Christ Life Academy in Lawrenceburg, TN.
