Gail Bennett went home with Jesus Friday morning, July 20, 2025.
Gail was born in Plymouth, Indiana the first child to Frank and Shirley Prestwood. Gail was a long-time resident of Decatur, Alabama. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1973 and attended Calhoun Community College. She married her husband Bobby in 1998. Gail was a vibrant woman, an avid reader and known for her fashionable style. She loved traveling and lunches with her close group of friends. She enjoyed mornings sitting on her back porch sipping coffee.
She was preceded in death by her father Frank Prestwood, daughter Christy Harper and her beloved Pug Mr. Bean. She is survived by her mother Shirley Prestwood, husband Bobby Bennett, sister Denise Morris (Gary), brother Jerry Prestwood (Paula) and her dear beloved nieces Kadie and Anna Grace Morris and granddaughter Chloe Harper along with a slew of close friends that were like family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made in Gail’s memory to Amedisys Hospice Care Decatur or the Humane Society.
