David William Gorgus, age 55, of the Hulaco community in Arab, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Marshall Medical Center North. Born to William Joseph Gorgus, Jr. and Sylvia Dorthea DeLuzio Gorgus, David was the cherished only son among four children in a loving family.
David shared a beautiful life with his wife, Tracy Nicole Gorgus, to whom he was married for over nine years. David was devoted family man. He found joy in spending time with his two beloved grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Professionally, David dedicated himself to the construction industry as a truck driver for the Rogers Group. His hard work and unwavering dedication earned him the respect of those he worked with.
David had a knack for finding joy in life’s simple pleasures. Whether he was cheering passionately for Alabama football, watching TV, or taking well-earned naps, he lived his days with a calm and steadfast spirit.
Family left to cherish memories include his wife, Tracy Taylor Gorgus; daughters, Savannah Gorgus, Katlyn Gorgus and Ali Taylor; grandchildren, Ramona Taylor, Layla Gorgus and soon to arrive, Jackson David Corley; father, William Gorgus; sisters, Carol Brown, Donna Gorgus and Gina Waits, (Timothy); and a host of nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Gorgus.
Family and friends will gather to honor David with a memorial visitation to celebration his life on Monday evening, June 23, 2025 from 6:00 until 8:00pm.
