Thomas Gene Walker Mr. Thomas Gene Walker, age 71, of the Morgan City community of Lacey’s Spring, Alabama passed away in the early evening Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Crestwood Medical Center. Thomas was born in Marshall County, AL on July 14, 1953, the cherished son of Thomas Allen Walker and Alma Dunn Walker. Thomas was married to Renee Berres Walker until she passed in 2024. Thomas was of the Baptist faith and was currently employed as a cashier at Kroger in Huntsville, AL.
Thomas was a huge fan of Alabama football. So much so that all are encouraged to wear Alabama attire to the services. Thomas also enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach. He could often be found in his garage “tinkering.” Most of all Thomas liked spending time with his family.
Family members Thomas leaves behind to cherish memories include; children, Candra Walker, Amber Atchley (Mitch), Joseph Isbell and Thomas Walker, Jr. (Violet); grandchildren, Danielle Covert, Jocasta Walker (Jake), Chloe West, Filip Walker, Serafira Walker; special friend, Scarlet Dawn Roberts; sister-in-law, Bobbie Ann Morgan Walker; and several nieces and nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Alma Walker; brothers, Rayford Walker, Dwight Walker, Max Walker, Boyd Walker, LaWayne Walker and Shelby Walker.
A visitation to honor Thomas’ memory is planned for Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00pm. Funeral services will be Friday, June 20, also at the Brindlee Mountain Chapel, at 4:00 pm. Burial will be in the Union Grove Cemetery, Morgan County. Brother Craye Hall will officiate. Honored to escort Thomas to his final resting place in Union Grove Cemetery are: Mitch Atchley, Ethan Atchley, Jake Dingler, Phillip Talley and Joey Isbell. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel and Brindlee Mountain Chapel entrusted with arrangements.
