James W. “Jimmy” Emerson, Jr., 57, died Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Columbia Rehab, Columbia, MS. He was born in Mississippi, worked in construction for more than thirty years and was of Baptist faith.
Graveside services will be Thursday, June 5, 1 p.m. at Belmont City Cemetery with Bro. Jerry George officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, June 5, 11-12:30 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS. Burial will be in Belmont City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by three children, Amanda Lucus (Grant), Matthew Emerson (Hailey) and Michael Emerson (Courtney); six grandchildren, Georgia Kate Lucus, Baker Grant Lucus, Mary Madison Lucus, Kasey Anne Emerson, Louis Emerson and expecting Scottie Emerson and one brother, Danny Emerson.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Emerson, Michael Emerson, John Byram, Nick Rogers, Zack Bounds and Rodney Kennedy.
