James “Ray” McLemore, age 62, of Hackleburg, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at his residence.
Ray loved the Lord and his family, especially his momma and sister, Theresa, who was like his twin. They did everything together since they were little kids. Ray especially enjoyed his great-nieces and great-nephews; they held a special place in his heart. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and enjoying nature daily. Ray enjoyed mowing the lawn and doing yard work. He loved to work and had an amazing work ethic. Ray was very punctual and couldn’t stand being late for anything. He was very unselfish and would help anyone in need. Ray loved music, all genres, and loved trying to make you guess the title and artist. He loved telling riddles and playing games; he was very competitive in everything he did, especially with his siblings. Just remember, he’s not saying goodbye; it’s until we meet again.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his son, James Ray McLemore, Jr.; grandchild, Ryleigh McLemore; special friendship with Karon McLemore; mother, Ida Juanita (Cox) McLemore; siblings, Farron McLemore, Ricky Wayne McLemore (Leisa), Theresa Davis (Randy), Sheila Johnson (Thurman); nieces & nephews, Trevor Poss (Gina), Crysta Poss, Ryan Davis, Ashley Winginton (Meagan), Cruz Reno, Halleigh Reno, Haxton Dickerson, Jameson Winginton, Ivey Carillo, Ryder Carillo, Myla Poss; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Travis McLemore, and sister, Patricia McLemore Townsend.
