Mr. Thomas Preston Rains, age 95, of Boaz, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at his home. A visitation will be held Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the funeral service Friday, May 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home with burial to follow at Marshall Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his son, Brent (Gaye) Rains; daughters, Sandra (Blaine) Decker and Ealaine (Steven) Dodd; sister, Christine Staton; grandchildren, Eric Tidwell, Damion (Gidget) Noblitt, Daniel Henderson, Brandi (Chad) Hallcox, Jessica (Kevin) Sheffey, Justin (Jennifer) Rains, and Hannah (Jonathon) Lucas; great-grandchildren, Heatherly (Bradley) Pollard, Jericho (Corey) Butts, Charlie Blair Hallcox, Erica Tidwell, Kelly Sheffey, Braylon Noblitt, Kendyll Sheffey, Caroline Rains, Harrison Rains, and Mason Rains; and great-great-grandchildren, Hudson and Hayden Pollard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Charlene Rains; son, Danny Henderson; and parents, George Dewey Rains and Cullie B. Slaton Rains.
Special caregivers were Nichole Sowell and Kaitlyn Rowe.
Pallbearers will be Justin Rains, Daniel Henderson, Kevin Sheffey, Corey Butts, Landen Weigel, and Zach Tweedy. Honorary pallbearer will be Harrison Rains.
