Susan Ann Barnett, 75, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
Susan is the daughter of the late Albert Rudolph and Ann Gresham Barnett. She grew up in Rogersville, AL and graduated from Lauderdale County High School in 1968. Susan received her nursing degree from Calhoun Community College. While she worked in many areas of nursing, her most rewarding was serving as a hospice nurse. She was a kind, compassionate, caring person who truly had empathy and sympathy for her patients.
In recent years, Susan lived in Columbia, TN where she continued her work as a hospice and home health care nurse, traveling over middle Tennessee to care for patients. In addition, she cared for two cousins who were mentally and physically challenged.
Susan loved family reunions and was responsible for bringing together the Gresham family for many years. She greatly enjoyed trips with family to the beach and to Branson, MO to see and hear her favorite singer Daniel O’Donnell.
Susan is survived by her brothers Timothy Steven Barnett (Teresa) and Donald Keith Barnett (Tangie); nieces, Brandy Nicole Barnett (David Locker) and Bethany Angelina Barnett; and nephews, Daniel Kirsten Barnett and Micah William Barnett. She is also survived by many cousins and friends. The family would like to especially thank Wanda Morris of Columbia, TN, for being a wonderful friend, neighbor, and sister of the heart.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 1 P.M. followed by service at 2 P.M. at the Rogersville United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Oliver-Bedingfield Memorial Cemetery. Pall bearers are Daniel Barnett, Micah Barnett, Gene Gresham, Mark Gresham, David Locker and Tim Thompson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rogersville United Methodist Church.
