Marilyn Batey Holeman went to meet her Lord and Savior on May 17, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Marilyn was born in Gainesville, FL, on February 20, 1938. She met the love of her life, Jim Holeman, in Gainesville and they married in 1957. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Additionally, she was an award-winning pilot, a published author, a volunteer, and a dog lover. Marilyn trained many dogs in obedience and showed them competitively. She served as vice president of HSC, the company she and Jim founded, and was a long-time member of Willowbrook Baptist Church.
Marilyn will be warmly and lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law (with whom she lived), Gay and Dennis Schill; her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Leigh Ann Holeman; grandchildren, Kristine Passion, Jessica and husband, Jon Roop, Jennifer and husband, Kelly Elliott, and Christopher and wife, Amber Holeman; thirteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Diana Ring; one niece, and her fur babies. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Hal C. Batey and Marguerite Wurster; and her brother Hal C. Batey, Jr.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with the memorial service immediately following. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
