Mr. Jimmy Milford Shirley, age 86, of Guntersville, Alabama died peacefully at Shepherds Cove Hospice on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
He was born September 24, 1938, to the late James Milford and Evelyn Cowen Shirley.
Jimmy worked with his parents at Shirleys Antiques since the 50s. He would travel to Pennsylvania to bring the antiques that his mother purchased back to Alabama. Jimmy married the love of his life Glenda on May 30th, 1960, and celebrated almost 65 years of marriage. They had two children Jeff and Kathy. Jimmy loved his family dearly. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren along with watching nascar and sitting on his front porch.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Shirley; son, Jeff (Jill) Shirley; daughter, Kathy (Rodney) Gray; grandchildren, Morgan (Michael) Hellums, Tyler Shirley, Wes Gray; great grandson, QT Hellums; niece and nephew, Angela (David) Mitchell, and Ron Shirley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Milford Shirley and Evelyn Cowen Shirley, and brother, Eddie Shirley.
The Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Marshall Memory Gardens with Rev. Jana Alcorn officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Shepherds Cove Hospice. Serving as pallbearers are Rodney Gray, Wes Gray, Tyler Shirley, Michael Hellums, Ron Shirley, Ronnie Cowen.
