Clarence William Hoosier, age 86 of Sewanee, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Sherwood on November 6, 1938, to the late Clarence and Mildred (Garner) Hoosier. Before his retirement, he was employed in the maintenance department at the University of the South for thirty years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed spending time in nature, whether it was hunting, camping, or traveling out west, or being busy in his shop fixing things. Clarence cherished the time spent with his beloved family, especially his grandchildren. A member of Monteagle Church of Christ, he loved God and his church family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Louise Dawson, Ann Willis, Jean Ferguson, Virginia Barksdale, and Donald Hoosier. Clarence is survived by his loving wife, Annie Hoosier; sons, William (Diane) Hoosier, Ronald (Carla) Hoosier; grandchildren, Leslee (Reuben) Newsome, Cody (Rachel) Hoosier, Colton (Kenadee) Hoosier; great-grandchildren, Karlee Morris, Hallee Morris, Oliver Hoosier, Lily Hoosier, Benton Hoosier, and Lakyn Hoosier; and siblings, Gerry (Carolyn) Hoosier, Jimmy (Louise) Hoosier, Bobby Hoosier, Earline (Ray) Shannon, and Jerry (Faye) Hoosier. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 3, 2025, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Titlle and J.D. Cantrell officiating. Interment will be at Mt.
