Funeral services for Mr. Bruce M. Horn, 89, of Ashland Alabama, will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Springhill Baptist Church with Reverend Andrew Goodwin officiating. Public visitation will take place at 12:30PM until service time at 2:00PM and burial with follow in the adjoining cemetery
Mr. Horn passed away peacefully at his home on April 26, 2025. He was born February, 13, 1936 in Clay County. He attended Heflin School and Clay County High School graduating in 1954. He married Betty J. Wesley on July 25, 1959. After working as a surveyor for Bell Telephone Company, Mr. Horn attended Auburn University graduating in 1965 with a B.S. in Agriculture Education. His first job was at Spring Garden High School. He returned to Clay County in 1967 as the agriculture teacher at Bibb Graves High School in Millerville. Mr. Horn taught and was the FFA advisor at Bibb Graves for 31 years. He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He served as a Sergeant in the Alabama National Guard, 128 Medical Unit, for 20 years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Horn is survived by his four daughters: Amanda Brown of Ashland, Susan Williamson of Helena, AL, Edie Geloneck of Ashland, and Ellie Horn of Ashland; and four grandchildren: Jacob Williamson, Rebecca Williamson, Braxton Geloneck, and Cora Geloneck.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Thomas Heflin Horn and Mae Cox Horn; his wife of 61 years, Betty J. Wesley Horn; and two brothers: Lowell S. Horn, and Ray H Horn.
Active Pallbearers will be Danny Horn, Alan Browning, Sam Horn, David Williams, Jacob Williamson and
Braxton Geloneck.
