Fred Barnes age 76 of Town Creek, AL passed away Friday, April 26, 2025 at his residence.
Born August 12, 1948 in Lamar County, AL he is the son of the late Murphy Lee and Bobbie Joyce Hankins Barnes, and the husband of the late Maxine Terry Barnes. He grew up in Lamar County and moved to Ardmore, AL. In 2009 he moved to Town Creek, AL. He retired from Metal Exchange as a Truck Driver. He loved fishing, hunting, playing his guitar and spending time with his family.
He is survived by 2 Daughters, Brenda Joyce Tucker (James) of Fayetteville, TN, and Veronica Lynn Shelton (Bruce) of Ardmore, AL, a Son, Michael Dewayne Barnes (Sandra) of Town Creek, AL, 8 Grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren, 2 Sisters, Patricia Taylor (Alvis) of Sulligent, AL, and Connie Tate (Mikey) of Greenwood Springs, MS, and a Brother, Joey Barnes (Lenetta) of Sulligent, AL, and several Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Maxine Terry Barnes, 2 Brothers, Jackie Allen Barnes and Allen Dale Barnes, Great Grand Daughter In Law, Cora Shelton and Great Grand Son In Law, Aaron Lee.
Services held Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 2:00 PM from the Veal Memorial Funeral Home Chapel – Sulligent with burial in the Crews Cemetery. Bro. Howard McNeal officiating.
