Duane Winslow Drye, age 71 of Knoxville passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Duane was born on March 17, 1954, in Winchester to the late Ralph William and Catherine Jane (Moore) Drye. Before his retirement he previously worked for FDIC, U.S. Census Bureau and Citibank. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jeffrey Carter Moore; nephew, James “Jamie” William Gonce; aunts, Donna Roper and Martha Hasty. He is survived by his daughter, Allison Drye (Jacob) Moore; grandchildren, Aurora Jane “Rory” Moore and Emma Grace Moore; siblings, Lillian Catherine “Cathy” Sanders, Dianne Wollam, Ralph “Smokey” Drye; nieces and nephews, William “Bill” Carter Drye, Daniel Drye, Libby Gonce, Spence Barham, and Shawn Pence. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 11:00am-1:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with funeral service following at 1:00pm from the chapel. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens with Ralph C. “Smokey” Drye, Bill Drye, Jacob Moore, Gavin Foster, David Smith, Andrew Smith, Jeff Saffell, Rob Johnstone all serving a pallbearers and Sam Foster serving as honorary pallbearer.
