Roy Etchison, age 84, of Scottsboro, AL passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025. He was born January 1, 1941 in Steiner, Texas. He entered the army at 17 and served 9 years as a combat engineer. He volunteered at the Jackson County Sheriffs Department.
Roy is survived by children Terry (Phyllis) Sims, Donna (Rocky) Watson and Gary Sims, his Grandchildren Alyson Mullinax, Terry Sims Jr., Michael Sims, Kimberly Bagley, Amy Blevins, Tamara Neeley and Derek Godwin; His great grandchildren Libba & Kady Sheppard, Taylor & Makayla Sims, Shayla Bagley, Cole & Tanner Blevins, Braelyn & Finley Neeley and Cali Perry; His sisters Carolyn Ulrich, Ruthie Cousins and Jean Richardson.
Roy is preceded in death by his wife Alma Etchison, mother Ida Etchison, father “Barr” Etchison, stepdaughter in law Annette Sims and great grandson Connor Garrison Sheppard.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 11:00AM at Cedar Hill Cemetery arranged by Rudder Funeral Home.
