Mrs. Hiroko “Judy” Yamamoto Sanders age 92 died March 25, 2025, at her daughter’s residence in Cookeville TN. She was born November 15, 1932, in Kumamoto, Japan, worked as a nurse for many years for Dr. Jimmie Woodlee, and formerly attended Bridges of Hope. Judy was preceded in death by her parents Toshiji and Yoshie Yamamoto and her husband of 56 years Richard S. Sanders.
Survivors include her children Jane Ayano Sanders (John D.) Blomberg, Betty Fujiko Sanders (Lt. Col. Ret. John Kenneth Jr.) Myers, Clent Wayne (Teresa Walden) Sanders, and Dr. Daniel Jefferson Barnes, grandchildren Lalena Blomberg (David) Borland, Toshiji Lee Blomberg, Jeremiah Nathaniel Blomberg, John Kenneth Myers, III, and Zachary Wayne (Marley Cantrell) Sanders, great-grandchildren Gwendalyn Ayano Borland, Ethan Duke Borland, and Sadie Bryce (Brian) Henry, and one great-great grandchild Violet Alena Henry.
Celebration of Life Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 26, 2025, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor DeWayne Howard will officiate. Inurnment will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Crestlawn Cemetery, 800 W. Jackson St., Cookeville, TN 38501. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at McMinnville Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Richard and Judy Sanders Memorial Band Scholarship and mailed to; UT Foundation, Attention: Brian Hardy, 625 Andy Holt Tower, Knoxville, TN 37996.
