It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of EC McDonald, age 77, of Decatur, who left us on Thursday, April 17th, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital. Mrs. McDonald was born on November 28th, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, to John Stanley Miller and Alma Frances Wilson Miller.
Mrs. McDonald leaves behind a loving family, including her husband of 58 years, James “Mac” McDonald. Her legacy of love continues through her daughter, Tina Tribble and her husband Chad, and son, Joseph McDonald. She was a cherished grandmother to Tiffany Moore and her husband Joshua, and Joshua Tribble and his wife Carmin. Her great-grandchildren, Jackson Moore, Tucker Moore, Willow Tribble, and Memphis Tribble, will carry forward her spirit and warmth. Mrs. McDonald is also survived by her brothers, Raymond Miller and his wife Donna, and Robert Rowe and his wife Pat.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Stanley Miller and Alma Frances Wilson Miller, as well as her siblings Helen Miller, Nelson Miller, Dolly Holmes, and Freda Boger.
Also preceding her was her furry four-legged daughter, Ada McDonald, the most pampered German Shepherd ever.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, for friends to visit with the family and honor EC. The service will take place on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Chad Tribble and Kasey Harbin officiating. The burial will follow at Burning Tree Memorial Garden in Decatur, Alabama. The pallbearers will be Joshua Moore, Jackson Moore, Raymond Miller, Kevin Allison, Joshua Sims, and David Graven. The honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Tribble, Tucker Moore, and Memphis Tribble.
Mrs. McDonald will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her presence will be deeply missed, and her memory treasured by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
