Mr. William David Tyler, age 80, of Somerville, Alabama passed away at his residence during the early morning hours of April 16, 2025. David was born June 9, 1944, one of eight children born to Jesse W. Tyler and Mary Davidson Tyler. David was married to Dorothy Louise Tyler. He retired from the Decatur Fire Department as a lieutenant.
Family members left behind to cherish their memories of David include his wife, Louise Tyler; brother, Oliver Tyler; stepsons, David Puckett, Dewayne Latham and Jody Moon; grandchildren, Amber Moon, Will Barnett and Jackson Puckett; three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Mary Tyler; brothers, Richard Tyler, Jesse Howard Tyler, and Delbert Carlton Tyler; sisters, Hazel Terrell, Linda Murphree and Opal Mooneyham.
Funeral service for David will be Friday, April 19, 2025 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City at 11:00am with Brother Randy L. Blakely officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, April 18, 2025 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Burial will be in the Union Grove Cemetery. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel entrusted with arrangements.
