Mary Alice McKnight Morrison  Mary Alice McKnight Morrison, 99, passed away Friday, April 4, 2025. Born on July 26, 1925, to William Oscar and Sara Ophelia McKnight, she was raised on a farm in the Algoma community and learned the value of hard work. At the age of 16, she married Alvis Clinton Morrison, and they shared 74 married years before his passing in 2016. An active member of West Heights Baptist Church, until her health declined, she enjoyed her Sunday School class and the Young at Heart group. Her last place of employment was Riveria Shirt Factory until it’s closure. Best known for her coconut cake and banana pudding she loved to cook desserts.
Survivors include her two daughters, Barbara Galloway (Ernest) and Sandra Stanford, her grandchildren, Charla Harrell (Carl), McNeil Stanford (Paula), Clint Stanford (Kalista), and Paige Enis, her great-grandchildren, Isaac and Tori Harrell, Wyatt and Riley Stanford, Presley and Cass Stanford, and Ledger, Liam, and Lyons Enis. She also leaves behind her second family at the Pontotoc Nursing Home where she had made home since 2016. Her family would like to thank each one there for their care and compassion.
Proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Don Morrison, granddaughter, Diona Hadaway, great-grandsons, Lexton and Pexton Stanford, great-granddaughter, Lizzie Jo Enis, sons-in-law, Buddy Hadaway and Mac Stanford, sisters, Loyce Gambell (Bob), Mable Sandlin (Zeke), and her brothers, Freeman McKnight (Lottie) and Howard McKnight (Liz).
Services will be held at 2PM Sunday, April 6, 2025, at West Heights Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 1PM. Dr. David Hamilton will officiate. Burial will follow in West Heights Cemetery. Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
