Mr. Marvin Eugene McCoig, age 72, of McMinnville, TN passed away Friday, March 14, 2025 at his residence. He was born in White Pine, TN, grew up in Smithville, TN, and was a grocer with Kroger for over 35 years. Marvin was of the Baptist faith, was a lover of music, greatly enjoyed playing snooker and pool, was fond of playing ball with the dog, and he wrote poetry. He was preceded in death by his parents Mickey McCoig and Ruby Florence Ball McCoig, brother Mikey McCoig, Jr., infant brother Mitchell McCoig, and nephew Danny Carter.
Mr. McCoig is survived by his children Michelle (Brandon) Patton, Carissa (Keaton) Kell, and Mitchell (Sheri) McCoig, sister Ida (Jerry) McClendon, grandchildren Allie Patton, Campbell Kell, Bailey Piche, Kaylan McCoig, and nieces Kristy Schrimsher and Jennifer Brazell.
The funeral service for Marvin McCoig is scheduled for 1 P.M. Tuesday, March 18, 2025 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Robbie Black will officiate. Interment will follow at Shellsford Cemetery. The McCoig family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
