Marjorie Ann Traughber, age 88, of Hardin, KY, formerly of Springfield, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025, at her home. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11am Thursday, March 6th, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father Anthony Lopez officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Traughber family actually helped build St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
Ms. Traughber was born January 21, 1937, in Springfield, to the late Thomas Traughber, and the late Nannie Lou Adams Traughber. She spent her life being a great mother and homemaker.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Traughber was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Carney; 8 sisters, Lucy Burns, Polly Underwood, Elsie Traughber, Ellen Gilbert, Nora Garcia, Mary Traughber, Carolyn Fox, and Christine Binkley; and 5 brothers, Freeman Traughber, Rayburn Traughber, Ed Traughber, Eugene Traughber, and Laurence Traughber.
She is survived by her children, Annita Ziegler, Timothy Carney, David Carney, and Cynthia Akins; 11 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and a brother, Harold Traughber.
All of the family would like give special recognition to granddaughter, Miranda Denton, great granddaughter, Maria Whitehead, and great grandson, Wyatt Ziegler, who have been Ms. Traughber’s caretakers, along with Annita.
