Mr. Thomas “Tom” Grimsley, age 90, passed away early Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt. Mr. Grimsley was born June 2, 1934 in Scott Hill to the late Luther “Luke” and Clara Lee Maness Grimsley. He met Bonnie Sue Wood at the County Fair in 1953 and they were married in May of 1954 in Corinth, Mississippi. He retired after 20 years in the U. S. Army, serving as a medic on the front lines in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne. He went on to work 10 years at Lexington Hospital and 10 years at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Charles Grimsley; one brother, C L Grimsley; and three sisters, Lima Grimsley Bowers, Shelby Jean Walls, and Mableen Hopper.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Mrs. Bonnie Sue Grimsley; his son, Bobby Grimsley; two daughters, Debbie Bosten and Susie Williams; four grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3 PM, Tuesday, February 25, 205 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Lexington Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, 1:30 – 3 PM.
