Billy Jack Kent, 89, of Tampa, Florida, passed on January 10, 2025. He was born on January 31st, 1935, in Littleville, Alabama, to Paul B. and Louise (Gibson) Kent.
Jack graduated from Deshler High School, continued his education with a BS degree from the University of North Alabama, and a Masters degree from University of Mississippi. He was a professor at the University of North Alabama for about 23 years. He retired from teaching and became an entrepreneur in real estate until his death.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Gayle Steverson Kent of 69 years; children: Kris Kent (Charlotte) and Kathy Kelly (Noel); his grandchildren: Kristi Chatham (Lee), Allen Kent (Rachael), Aimee Kelso (Adam), Noel Kelly and Marie Kelly; great grandchildren: William Kent, Reagan Kent, Jackson Chatham, Abigail Kelso.
A memorial service will be at Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia on Saturday, February 15th at 1:00 PM.
