Ms. Jimmie Waite Swanner, age 84, of the Morgan City community of Lacey’s Spring, Alabama passed away Sunday afternoon January 26, 2025 at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice. Jimmie was born in Greenville, AL on November 20, 1940. Her parents were Gemini Patrick Waite and Dorothy McQueen Waite. Jimmie relocated from Greenville to the Morgan City community in 1978 and quickly became a business owner as well as a contributing volunteer within the community.
Jimmie was a licensed hairstylist and opened her own shop, J’s Hair, just north of Morgan City. She loved people and rapidly grew to love and be loved by her clients and all she came in contact with. She was known as independent and strong-willed but also as generous, kind and caring. She was a true fighter and will be missed by all.
Jimmie is survived by her son and daughter in law, Patrick and Misty Swanner; grandson, Joshua Swanner; her sister, Jewel Wood; brother in law, James McHaffie and loved by many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jimmie in death are her parents, Gemini and Dorothy Swanner and her twin sister, Dorothy Pearl McHaffie.
A graveside service for Jimmie will be 12:00 Thursday, January 30, 2025 at the Magnolia Cemetery in Greenville, Al. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel entrusted with arrangements.
