A Celebration of Life service for Jo Ann Montgomery of Starkville, MS will be Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 2:00 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Bradley, MS. Pastor Michael Sanders and Pastor Donnie Buckner will officiate the service. Visitation will be on Saturday before the service from 1:00 until service time.
Jo Ann passed away on Monday, January 20 at Tishomingo Manor in Iuka. She was born on April 7, 1941 at home in Longview to Henry Willard Montgomery and Mary Alyne Buckner Montgomery. Jo Ann graduated from the W and then got her Master’s degree. She worked with the American Red Cross, worked in community counseling, and retired after working in the MASEP program at Mississippi State. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She was a talented artist, enjoyed crafts, reading, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sister, Gail Dixon (Gary); nephews, Andy Dixon (Peyton), and Blake Dixon (Jessica); great nieces, Ellora Dixon and Mariana Dixon; and many cousins and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Alyne Montgomery. Pallbearers are Wesley Buckner, Brad Buckner, John Austin Buckner, Will Hutchinson, and David Pinkerton.
