Rickie Elaine Waid, age 70, of Double Springs, passed away on Monday January 20, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Rickie was born on March 2, 1954 in Haleyville, Alabama. She loved animals , she took in strays and could not stand to see animals mistreated. Rickie also loved to travel. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where the service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Double Springs, Alabama. Brother Randy Jones and Brother Danny Page will officiate. Rickie is survived by her husband, John Larry Waid; daughter, Melita (Rick) Roseboom; stepson Kenny (Jennifer) Waid; brother, Larry (Debra) Sutherland; grandchildren, Jacob Roseboom, Leslie (Matt) Thomas, Taylor Roseboom, Ben (Ambra) Waid, Brett Waid (Jennifer Leigh), and John Ryan Waid, AJ (MacKenzie) Perdew; great nieces; Jaci Sutherland and Knoxlee Taylor; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otho and Dean Sutherland; brother, Earl Ray; stepson, Keith Waid; and nephew, Heath Sutherland.
