Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Powers, age 101 will be held on Wednesday January 22, 2025, at 1 PM in the chapel of Shelton Funeral home in Trenton, TN, burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Trenton, TN. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday January 21, 2025, starting at 4 until 6 PM in the chapel of Shelton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Powers, a retired LPN Nurse, passed away on Sunday January 19, 2025, a Dyer Nursing and Rehab Center in Dyer, TN.
Powers was preceded in death by her husbands, Dr. Frederick Stone and Rev James Powers: her parents Thomas and Beulah (Parker) Smith; her three brothers, Estes Smith, Aubrey Smith, Walter (Pete) Smith; her six sisters, Frances Stiles, Earline Bell, Doris Hamby, Bessie Bringle, Mary Emma Morris, and Ruth Dunn; and her two stepdaughters, Julie Long and Brenda Collins.
Mrs. Powers is survived by her two stepsons, Jim Powers and David Powers; her six grandchildren, Chris Hix, Brian Collins, Katie Harris, Clark Powers, Nathan Powers, April Powers; her ten great-grandchildren, Christian Hix, Jalyn Hix, Henry Powers, James Powers, Ryleigh Powers, Drake Powers, Haley Lou Powers, Allison Florida, Ruby Harris, Hazel Harris; four nieces, Linda McGee, Sue Roark, Patricia Andrews, Deborah (Bucky) Shelly; and three nephews, Robert (Bobby) Smith, Gerald Stiles and Harold Morris.
