Funeral services for Lejeune “June” Yvonne Raines age 72 of Oxford, will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Rev Glen Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay County Memory Gardens.
June was born in Seattle, Washington, graduated from Lineville High School, also attended Middle Tennessee College and then taught in the Tullahoma, TN school system. After moving back to Lineville she worked many years at “Lee Country Kitchen” and later moved to Mobile. She was very involved in church activities and loved reading her bible. She enjoyed the time she spent taking care of the elderly. In her spare time she loved doing crafts such as woodworking, painting, crocheting.
She was survived by her daughter, Jennifer Lester of Tullahoma, TN; a son Jason Brooks of Tullahoma, TN; grandchildren, Lauren, Lexi and Eli; her sisters; Mary Jane Kennedy of Oxford and Yvette Bainter of Yakima, Washington; two brothers, Jim Waldrop of Oxford and Dennis Waldrop of Millerville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Waldrop and Leonora “Lee Waldrop.
Active pallbearers will be family and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews.
Her visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 11:00 A.M. until service time at 1:00 P.M.
