Peggy June Drake, 83, of Ardmore, Alabama, passed away on January 6, 2025, at Athens Health and Rehabilitation Center in Athens, Alabama.
Peggy was born on December 15,1941, to the late William Clyde Lewter and Mildred Virginia Hobbs in Lincoln County, Tennessee.
Mrs. Drake spent all of her life in Ardmore, Alabama, where she was a machine operator.
In her free time, she enjoyed cooking Sunday dinner for her family, spoiling her grandchildren, as well as tending to her flowers. Peggy was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Mrs. Drake is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James Kenneth Drake, both of her parents, one daughter, Tina Stewart, one brother, Jimmy Lewter, as well as one granddaughter, Paige Drake.
She is survived by two sons; Kennan (Cindy) Drake of Ardmore, Tennessee and Jeff (Lisa) Drake of Ardmore, Tennessee, two sisters; Brenda (Cliff) McGahay of Huntsville, Alabama and Cathy (Rick) Jones of Huntsville, Alabama, four grandchildren; Ashley, Jeffery, Hailey, and Jordan, as well as eight great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (NOON). A chapel service will follow directly afterwards at 12:00 PM (NOON). Burial will follow in Hatchett Cemetery. Bro. Billy Taylor will officiate the service.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
