Shotgun was born in Alabama in 1947 to William “Rube” and Ida Lee Leggette Currington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Juanita Currington; brothers: Lee Currington and David Currington; and a grandson, Keaton Lantz Currington.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Deborah Currington; daughter, Sherry (Doug) Schwan; sons: Jackie (Sabrina) Currington, Scottie (Brittney) Currington and Shane Currington; grandchildren: Alan (Elise) Bright, Daniel Tucker, Sydney (Kristian) Chappell, Sawyer (Emily Currington, Dylan Currington, Karson Currington, Allysen Currington, Journie Currington, and Kori Currington; great grandchildren: Kadince and Ethan Fortenberry; Abigail Bright; Blakeleigh Tucker, Marshall Tucker, Adelaide Chappell, Aurora Chappell, River Currington and June Currington; and a host of other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 31st, 2024 from 12:00 noon until the celebration of “Shotgun’s” life which will begin at 2:00 PM. at Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Crossroads Cemetery.
