Martha Louetta Gardner Steadman, age 95 of Jasper, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at her residence.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Union Chapel Methodist Cemetery. Donnie Hyche, Keith Lane and Greg Tinker will officiate.
Mrs. Steadman was preceded in death by her Husband-Reverend Norris “Tom” Steadman; her Sons-Mark Dewayne Steadman and Robin Norris Steadman; her Parents- Reverend Samuel and Alpha Gardner; her Sisters-Ida Akins, Mary Tucker, Ivah Gardner and Beula Black; her Brothers-George Lee Gardner and Sammy Gardner.
She leaves behind her Children-Pam Gurley, Lona Courington, Iva Hendon, Amy Sherer and Jodi Burrus and her husband Jason; Grandchildren-Cara Gurley Wester (Christoper), Jon Weston Gurley (Kayla), Dalton Williams and Darby Williams, Caleb Hendon (Allison), Corrith Hendon Zubia (Aaron), Caitlin Hendon Gehrke (Samuel), Carlie Hendon Hodge (Kyle), Craig Hendon (Miranda), Caroline Hendon Gerke (Christian), Chloe Hendon and Carson Hendon, Andrew Sherer (Amanda) and Taylor Sherer (Megan), Jack Burrus, Sam Burrus, Tom Burrus and Will Burrus; And a host of great grandchildren and nieces and nephews and family and friends; and Her faithful companion and guardian, Lela the dog.
And of course, we want to include her amazing care givers who quickly became family- Tammy Hood, Brigette Wallace, Summer Stanfield, Vera Clay and Angel Gaines. We also want to express our gratitude to the Hospice nurses and support staff.
Pall bearers will be Wes Gurley, Caleb Hendon, Craig Hendon and Carson Hendon, Dalton Williams and Darby Williams, Andrew Sherer and Taylor Sherer, Jack Burrus, Sam Burrus, Tom Burrus and Will Burrus.
