Shirley Mae Sparks, 82, of Carbon Hill, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Walker Baptist Medical Center.Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 12 until 2 p.m., at New Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church, with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing. Service will follow at New Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church at 2 p.m., with burial at New Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Cemetery of Nauvoo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Hazel Montgomery; sister, Annette Martin; in-laws, Garlin and Nelladean Sparks and brother-in-law, John Oliver Atkins.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Donald Sparks; children, Bryan Sparks (Stephanie) and Stacey Cagle (Paul); grandchildren, Whitney Johnson (Alex), Kyle Cagle (Haley), Katie Payne (Alex), and Joseph Cagle (Michaela); great grandchildren, Brylie Kate, Peyton, Kolt, Luke, Emma and Iris; siblings, Sue Atkins, Jim Montgomery (Sharon) and Debra Moyer (Tommy) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Cagle, Joseph Cagle, Alex Johnson, Alex Payne, Dan Tucker and Jeff Sparks.
