Funeral for Helen Mote Hogan, 80, of Decatur will be Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at 4 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hogan, who died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at her residence, was born November 19, 1932, in Morgan County to Herman Lee and Maxie Owen Mote. She retired from GE and had worked at Prestolite and Big Bob Gibson. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Waymon Hogan; infant daughter; brothers, Loza and Wendell; and sister, Lynda Ingram.
Survivors include one daughter, Jamie “Mona” McTaggart of Decatur; four brothers, Waymon, Paul, Gaylon and Larry, all of Decatur; two sisters, Hazel Carpenter of Decatur and Beverly Howell of Hartselle; three grandchildren, Jamie Sanchez (Jose), Samantha Hogan and Julie McTaggart; and four great-grand- children, Aaliya, Nadia, Alana and Emileo Sanchez.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
