James E. Burleson, 87, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Saturday, May 04, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. He was a retired roofer, and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and antiques. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 9 PM on Sunday, May 5 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM on Monday, May 6, 2013, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka. Interment will follow in Palestine Cemetery. Pallbearers include Melvin Vaughn, Dale Nord, Dee Vaughn, Jordan Vaughn, Gene Johnson, and Travis Johnson. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Bessie Burleson of Iuka; 2 daughters – Judy Vaughn (Melvin) of Iuka and Jane Nord (Dale) of Franklin, TN; 5 grandchildren – Melanie Johnson (Gene), Dee Vaughn (Jessica), Tiffany Johnson (Travis), Jordan Vaughn, and Lacey Miller; 11 great grandchildren; and 1 brother-in-law – Arlis Mock (Willard) of Fulton. He was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Burleson; his parents, Floyd and Mattie Burleson; his stepmother, Hilda Burleson; 2 sisters – Lila Ruth Barnett and Annie Mae King; and 2 brothers – Archie and R.C. Burleson.
