Wallace Lee George, age 83, Haleyville, AL. passed away Thursday April 24, 2013 at his home. He was a member of Crossroads Church of Christ, served on the Haleyville City Council, retired Salesman. Funeral Sunday April 28, 2013 at 2:00 PM Pinkard Funeral Home-Haleyville, AL. with Chad Fell and Vance Hutton officiating, visitation 1:00-3:00 prior to the service, burial to follow at Winston Memorial Cemetery. He is survived by:Son, Michael Shawn George; Brother in laws & Sister in laws, Sonny and Sylvia Fell; Christine George; Kate and Steve Massey; Nephews,Chad Fell,Paul (Denise) George;Nieces, Amanda Booth,Diane Ward and Lisa Viguelia. He was preceded in death by; Parents, Henry Harley George and Marjorie Mills George; Brothers, Wayon George and Hubert “Stubby” George; Wife, Frances Fell George.

Wallace and I were classmates at Bear Creek High School. I played guitar and Wallace sang in a fledging band that never got off the ground. We double dated once. I was in his home in Haleyville on many occasions. Wallace was a happy go lucky guy, positive in outlook and good friend. Lost contact with him in about 1948. Sorry to read of his passing.
