GUNTERSVILLE-Backyard Chefs from the Guntersville area will square off on Saturday, May 11 at 5:30 p.m. as the Alabama Wildlife Federation hosts its annual AWF / Alabama Army National Guard Wild Game Cook-Off at the Civitan Park in Guntersville, Alabama.
This popular event will bring teams from across the area to battle for the title of best wild game
chefs! Entry for the cook teams is free, but teams must pre-register prior to the day of the event at www.alabamawildlife.org. Categories include wild game, fish and fowl. Prizes will be awarded to first through third place in each division, as well as Best Overall, Best Presentation and a People’s Choice Award sponsored by the Alabama Army National Guard. The overall winner will be invited to the state finals held at Lanark in Millbrook on August 3, 2013 to compete for the title of AWF 2013 Wild Game Cook-Off State Champion.
This is the perfect opportunity for sportsmen and women and outdoor enthusiasts to
enjoy some good ol’ fashion fun and fellowship and great food. Come experience backyard chefs at their best as they show off their culinary skills. Ample servings of great food are always featured, including entrees such as venison, duck, dove, pheasant and much more!
In addition to all the outstanding food, a major highlight of the cook-off will be a silent auction and live music. Tickets are available for $40 per person/per couple at the door. Proceeds benefit Alabama Wildlife Federation’s programs and projects. The ticket price includes one Alabama Wildlife Federation membership, a subscription to the Alabama Wildlife magazine, and all of the food you can eat!
