We regret to announce the passing of Paul Gene Spence,92, of Moulton, Alabama, who passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024, at Lawrence Medical Center in Moulton, Alabama.
Paul was born May 24,1932, to the late Mr. William Carl and Mrs. Mamie Rivers Head Spence in Veto, Alabama.
Paul spent a majority of his life in Ardmore where he was a business owner for 35 years. He was a member of Ardmore Methodist Church. He was part of the local Rotary Club as well as served proudly as an Ardmore Tennessee City Councilman of 20 years.
In his free time, Paul enjoyed reading the paper, was an avid golf & Nascar watcher, as well as spent his earlier years fishing.
Mr. Spence was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Frances Spence, his parents, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, as well as one granddaughter, Joanna Blaire Spence.
He is survived by son, Mike (Darla) Spence, two daughters, Paula (Ricky) Newton, Wanda (Tony) Hogan, 12 grandchildren, Dana (Mitch) Duke, Spence (Becky) Currin, Misty Newton, Annie (Zac) Randolph, Bridgette (Phil) Tucker, Drew (Ashley) Hogan, Kyle Spence, and Kari (James) Fritts, 12 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews.
A visitation will be held at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 11:00 AM until12:00 Noon. A Chapel Service will follow directly afterwards at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery. Bro. Mike Magnusson & Bro. Drew Hogan will officiate the service.
