Larry Joe Rainey, 69, Cherokee, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 8, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Ed White officiating. Interment will be in Harris Chapel, Cherokee.
Larry was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Lawrence Rainey; and brother, Glen Rainey.
He is survived by his brother, Kenneth Otis Rainey; sisters, Mary Jo Rainey Corsbie (Winfred), Kathy Rainey Ragan (Terry), Julia Wallace (Steve), and Regina Allen; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, his dog, Callie.
Pallbearers will be Tony Corsbie, John Grissom, Steven Wallace, Adam Rainey, Leonard Caldwell, and Lee Corsbie.
