billJames R. Tucker, 86, was reunited with his beloved Nell in the early evening hours of April 24, 2013. Mr. Tucker dedicated his life to the education of our youth and proudly served as a principal for over 34 years, the final 18 of which he spent at Brewer High School. He was a dynamic man and those that were lucky enough to know him understand that he could never be fully described in this brief paragraph, but those that did not should know that he faithfully served his God, his country, and his family. His family will miss his strength, honor, and indefatigable sense of humor, but they cherish the thousands of precious memories he has left for them. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Nell Ree Tucker, and is survived by their daughter, Elizabeth Faye Campbell and her husband, Scott; their son, James Roy Tucker, and his wife, Shaye; their granddaughter, Shanna Campbell Brodbeck, her husband, Christian, and their great-granddaughter, Olivia. He also shared his love with their adopted family: K.C. Thomaskutty, and his wife, Mary; their children, Champ, Christy, and Christopher and his wife, Hilary; and their grandchildren: Ella, Kieran, and Caleb. Additionally, he is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews and his constant companion, Lady. Visitation will be Friday, April 26th from 5 to 7p.m. at Hillwood Baptist Church, 300 Kohler Road S.E., Huntsville, AL 35803. Mr. Tucker will lie in state one hour prior to the service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27th at the church. Dr. Charles Freeman is officiating.
