Graveside service for Martin Gilbert Shelton, 80, of Moulton will be today, April 20, 2013, at 4 p.m. at East Lawrence Memorial Gardens with Burl Wallace officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. There will be no visitation.
Mr. Shelton,who died Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Huntsville Hospital, was born August 7, 1932, in Lawrence County to Martin Homer and Myrtle Gladys Shelton. He was retired from Wayne Poultry Farms. He loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, O’Neal Shelton; and one granddaughter, Franny McLemore.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Suggs Shelton; two sons, Duncan Eric Shelton (Patricia) and William Bryan Shelton (Gina); one daughter, Amy Shelton McLemore (Lee); one brother, MacArthur Shelton (Willie); one sister, Virginia Shelton Hill; seven grandchildren, Amber Vinson (Tony), Ashley Calhoun, Christian Thompson, Jessica Shelton, Shelton McLemore, Daniel Thompson and LJ McLemore; and four great-grandchildren, Anna Claire and Allie Vinson and Evie and Livi Calhoun.
Pallbearers will be Steve Shelton, Ricky Hill, Derek Shelton, Harold Shelton, Lee McLemore and LJ McLemore.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Caddo Congregational Christian Church or Caddo Cemetery.
