Charles Robert Jennings known as Bob to all his friends and family was born January 9, 1935 and lived 89 years until May 17, 2024. Bob was born in Atlanta, Ga. but raised in Montgomery, Al. and had the opportunity to live in many places in the south but always returned home to Alabama. He married Barbara Jean McPherson in 1956 and graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) in 1957 with a Bachelor degree in Industrial Management and worked as a salesman in many capacities throughout, and finished his long career as an investment broker with A.G. He had many interests and hobbies and explored every one of them thoroughly with his wife Barbara by his side. Bob developed a love of music at a young age and played trombone throughout school and as an adult was involved in many community bands throughout his life and also enjoyed playing his piano at home.

He had a green thumb and could make any plants thrive; enjoyed having a garden and growing his own food, as well as helping his son Tyler take care of the cows. Some of his other interest were spending time near the water whether being by the ocean on a sailboat or powerboat or fishing in a pond. Cooking, pouring over cookbooks and trying new restaurants, reading and frequenting the local library were also some of his favorite pastimes.

Bob is survived by his wife of 68 years Barbara of Barfield, son Tyler and his wife Cathy of Lineville, and grand-daughter Kimberly and great grandchildren Hunter and Ava as well as many other extended family and friends.

Active pallbearers will be family and friends.
