Patty Mae Persle, age 59, of Morgan City, Alabama passed away at her home on April 29, 2024. Patty, nicknamed Penny by her parents, was born January 7, 1965 in Arab, AL. Her parents were Kenneth Doyle Durham and Velma Lois Smith Durham. Penny was an avid Auburn Tigers fan and you would often catch her sporting the orange and blue. She was best known for her sweet spirit, for always having a kind word to say and for having a hug ready to give.
Penny is preceded in death by: daughter, April Lynn Persle; mother and father, Lois And Doyle Durham, sisters, Joyce Durham and Kaye Holt; brother, Shane Durham.
She leaves behind one daughter, Andrea McCutcheon (Johnny); a niece who was like a daughter, Sylvia Cuellar (Jose); niece, Amanda Holt; nephew, Alan Holt; and her significant other of 20 years, DeWayne Couch. She also leaves behind 3 grandsons who she referred to as her “nutty buddies,” Noah Evans, Jonah Evans, and Eli Evans.
The family has elected to honor Penny’s wishes by cremation with no services planned at this time.
