Anita Rogers Silvernail, a spirited and adventurous soul, passed away on April 24, 2024, at the age of 92, after a life richly lived. Born on February 22, 1932, in Oklahoma, Anita spent most of her vibrant years in the charming city of New Orleans.
A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Anita’s academic journey began at Randolph Macon Women’s College. She was a proud member of Chi Omega Fraternity, which shaped much of her early social and professional life. Anita embraced her career with gusto, becoming a successful real estate broker for 50 years.
Anita was a passionate traveler who explored the globe extensively, who was making plans for an African safari until the end. She loved and supported the arts, as evidenced by her extensive art collection.
Known for her radiant smile, accented with her signature red lipstick, Anita’s love language was fun. She was a trailblazer and a role model to her daughter and granddaughters, embodying strength and independence long before it became the norm. Anita loved to throw a good party.
Anita was predeceased by her parents, Danette and James Rogers. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter to her daughter, Ruth Silvernail Robertson (Alan Anthony); grandchildren Elisa Muñoz (Zack Miller), Diana Munoz Will, Ashley Bartkowiak (Brandon Bartkowiak), and James C Robertson; and great-grandchildren, Cooper, Cami, Rowan, John, and Emma, who will continue to walk in the light of her pioneering spirit.
A celebration of Anita’s life will be held at Brookdale Jones Farm, on Tuesday, May 7 from 2-4pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jefferson Parish Performing Arts Society (https://www.jeffersonpac.com/) reflecting her lifelong support for the arts. Anita’s journey was one of joy, passion, and an indomitable spirit that will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
